Springing forward

Daylight Saving Time

If you live in a part of the U.S. that follows Daylight Savings Time, don’t forget to move your clocks forward today!

Despite the loss of an hour, I love this sudden leap into later sunsets. In fact, I kind of wish we stayed on DST all year round because winter could definitely use longer evenings. But I know the early risers bemoan the return to dark mornings (at least for the month or so it takes for sunrise to catch back up). 😉

I’m not sure changing the clocks works for its intended purpose of saving energy. It’s probably time to scrap the whole concept, but since my day just got longer, I’m not complaining.

Do you like DST (or your country’s version of it, if you have one) or do you think we should stay on Standard time?

Nice post and I love the green version of the clock. I’m not a natural early riser, so I’d prefer to allocate any ‘spare’ light in the evening.

Susurrus: That is a nice color green, isn’t it? I’m with you. Even though it’s sometimes hard to get up early when it’s dark, I’d much rather have that light in the evening. 🙂
