I’m joining Writer Unboxed

NEWS on typewriter keyboard

About three years ago—wow, time flies—I wrote a guest post about Scrivener for the Writer Unboxed (WU) website. In case you haven’t heard of it, Writer Unboxed has a regular spot on the Writer’s Digest “101 Best Websites for Writers” list.

Well, I chatted with cofounder Therese Walsh a couple of weeks ago at the WD conference, and we got to talking and…

I’m excited to announce that starting September 16th, I’ll become a quarterly contributor to the site, writing about—what else?—Scrivener. 🙂

I’ll be sure to let you know when my first post comes out. Meanwhile, if you’ve never visited, you might want to check out all of the WU greatness.

By the way, at Kiss and Thrill this week I wrote (and posted lots of pictures) about some of the reasons I’m loving summer. Check it out and feel free to share what you like about the hot season. Enjoy the rest of yours!

I will be sure to follow your posts there. I do use Scrivener and your courses have made me much more proficient with the product. In fact, I recently shared a draft of a project with two friends and I gave them each different versions of work, just to see whether one had a more appealing narrative than the other. Producing such different versions at compile time is really simple. It turned out that the differing content had no real impression on the friends. They felt that my use of the phrase ‘jury-rigged’ was incorrect. There was also much focus on the behavior of one of the characters, and debate about whether I should make that person act differently. So Scrivener did help me secure a very interesting content review.

Thanks, Bob! Producing different versions easily (once you know what you’re doing) is one of the great things about Scrivener. Glad you’re getting some valuable feedback. Just remember to take what makes sense to you and leave the rest. 😉

I’m not sure if others realize how big of a deal this is… but I do. I am so proud and happy and elated to see what you’ve done and will continue to do for the writing community. You are awesome! Congrats my friend. I look forward to (hopefully) meeting you in person at the RWA National in San Diego! Continued success!

Thank you, Ara! It’s been a good year for both of us. I see GAME OF LOVE everywhere it seems like. 😉 I’m hoping to make it to RWA16, but we might be moving, so scheduling could be an issue. Fingers crossed I can make it work. Thanks!!
