Bonus Friday: My other grandmother

Those of you who've followed me for a while have read about my paternal grandmother to whom I was very close growing up, but I was lucky enough to know both of my grandmas. My first Friday of the month post over at Everybody Needs a Little Romance is about my mom's mom and the different role she played in my life. I'd love to have you come over for a visit.

Gwen – Genuinely enjoyed your post on your maternal grandmother. I also read your previous post about your paternal grandmother. What a blessing to have known them, and to have such fond memories of them both. I envy you having had them in your life. Unfortunately, I never lived near either of my grandparents and only have memories of a few times together. Thankfully I have those. It seems the older I get the more I wish I’d known them.

I hope I’m around for many years for my grandchildren (four already and one on the way!) and that someday they will have many wonderful things to remember.

  Thanks, Dave. It’s definitely hard when you don’t live close. I think grandparents probably underestimate the effect they can have on their grandkids. That time together is priceless.
